‘The Patio House’ is in the very heart of the Historic Centre of Arcos de la Frontera (Jerez), known for its sherry bodegas. It is half an hour from the beaches and one hours drive from Seville. This large house is very ancient and independent. It has its own private roof terrace and also has two caves and a huge well. It is a stunning house which is also very well equipped. It has three double bedrooms, two of which are ensuite (one being a cave), a separate cloakroom with toilet and washbasin, and a second cave at the end of the sitting room which also has a beautiful barrelled ceiling.

The city of Arcos, believed the oldest of the famous Andalucian "Pueblo Blanco" was reputedly founded as a Kingdom some three Millennia ago by Noah’s (Noah’s Ark) grandson, developed as a cliff top fortress by the Phoenicians in the honeycomb of cave dwellings which still form the greater part of the older dwellings, then significant Roman influences, attracting the name "De La Frontera" when eventually the Christians pushed the Moors back to North Africa. The Patio House is within a few minutes walk of many restaurants, bars, shops and the Cathedrals and Castle. It has been carefully and beautifully restored by an architect, the restoration being completed in August 2008. It is a large independent house with its own private roof terrace. It is 3 kilometres from the world famous Arcos Gardens World Championship Golf Course, and close to the Speed Circuit at Jerez for the Moto Grand Prix.

The city towers over near vertical cliffs, the roof terrace gives wonderful views over the countryside to the lake which has several bars and restaurants, even a sailing school, and is just 5mins drive away.

This beautiful Patio House is furnished to a high standard, and has many original features. There is parking nearby.

Arcos is a very ancient Pueblo Blanco with a wealth of tapas bars and restaurants and promises an unforgettable holiday whilst staying in the Patio House.

It is near to Jerez Airport, 1 hour from Seville Airport, and 2 hours from Malaga Airport and 1hr Gibraltar.

Ryanair flights are London to Jerez, and Gothenburg/Stockholm to Malaga. To Seville Airport there are from London, Bristol, Liverpool, Dublin, Barcelona, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Milan, Pisa, and Cagliari.

Special requests for arrival shopping packs are welcome and other requests attended to if possible. We aim to make your stay a memorable holiday, one which you will want to recommend to your friends.

There is no extra cost for cleaning and linen, but a deposit of 200 euros is requested against breakages.

During our time in Spain, our party agreed that Arcos and the Patio House were the best. Cozy, comfortable, perfect. You are right in the heart of the old town in a Spanish neighborhood with families, numerous tapas bar are short walk, the views are fabulous.

Russell is a very nice guy to deal with. My 80-year-old mom was in our party, and she has a bad limp. Before we booked, I discussed this in email with Russ, and he said that truthfully, Arcos and his house might not be the best for Mom. I talked it over with Mom, and she was game, however, and thankfully we booked the place, and it turned out great. What impressed me was Russ’s integrity in full disclosure.

The house is a jewel, as the pictures attest.

Arcos is a 20- to 30- minute ride from the Jerez airport. Be sure to contact Russ about directions to the house and have a cell phone with you. Arcos is difficult to navigate the first time.

We stayed in the Patio House for a week and loved it. Truly a neighborhood, and I recommend Cristobal the barber a few doors downhill from the Patio House. There’s a few small stores minutes away from the Patio House, tapas bars are 5-minute walk.

This is a good jumping-off place to explore the area. We just scratched the surface, because it was so comfortable to hang out in the house and the town.
