The house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 adults and 2
children as one of the bedrooms has bunk beds. It has been completely transformed by the owners in 2006, with much thought and care being given to comfort and style. The house is wi-fi enabled should you wish to bring a laptop.
The beautiful beaches and coves in the area have the highest concentration of blue flag sites in Europe, and the walks are famous, as are the restaurants and wines. Cultural and sporting activities abound in the immediate area.
A car is essential as the area is hilly, but with one, trips to the Pyrenees, France, Dali country, Barcelona, Girona etc. are all easily accessible.
The house has three terraces, all well equiped for relaxing, breakfasting in the sun and enjoying the peace and view of the pines and sea. Sa Riera beach is accessible for the fit and energetic, being 300 steps below the house, or less than five minutes by car. Because of the nature of the site and the stone steps linking the levels, the property is fitted with secure gates to steps, but toddlers should be supervised.
All basic essentials are provided, such as oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, toilet paper etc. We even welcome you with our special Spanish Tapas on your arrival and a welcome pack to give you an easy start !
A bonus is that the co-owner, who lives in an adjacent house approached from a lower road, is an excellent chef and is happy to supply a welcome buffet, or meals, child sitting, etc. by arrangement.
The villa is ideal for a winter holiday, having double glazing throughout, as well as central heating and an open fire. During the cooler weather the full range of sporting activities can be taken advantage of; for example we are situated in beautiful walking and cycling country with well-marked trails and tracks. Mountain biking is also a popular sport and the terrain was ideal for the recent the World Championship trials. We can also arrange guided horseback riding.
Catalunia is a well known golfing area too, in fact Golf World Magazine praised the Golf Club of Pals - a fifteen minute drive from Begur as one of the best in Europe. There are no less that nine Golf courses in the region, all in superb sites.
Finally, the cultural sites and the beautiful medieval towns in the area can be seen to advantage in low season.Skiing too is possible, the slopes of Andorra are accessible in about three hours.
