Partaloa is a real step back in time and it is just a 10 minute walk. It has 5 bars, all different and a small supermarket plus a baker and pharmacy (ask the neighbours how to find these as they are not obvious!)
It is 10 minutes drive to the big towns of Olula Del Rio and Albox, which both have the big Spanish supermarket "Mercadona".
Also in Albox, there are many restaurants,(including Chinese and Indian) bars, hairdressers (English and Spanish) an internet cafe .. very useful for keeping in touch ...or not! Ten-pin bowling, snooker club etc.
In fact all the facilities that you would expect in a big town.
PLACES TO VISIT

Other coastal places with excellent beaches, are VERA, which also includes a nudist beach and a water park, GARRUCHA, which is a working fishing port so has many very good fish restaurants. SAN JUAN, AGILAS,& VILLARICAS .All worth a visit.
GOLF
Desert Springs, Valle De Este, Mojacar and Cortijo Grande
are all very good courses and about 40 minutes drive.
SKIING
Granada with the Sierra Nevada mountains is about 2hrs, drive and offers excellent skiing. Not in Summer of course!
GENERAL
Granada itself is a lovely city to visit, especially if you incorporate the famous Alhambra Palace ( you will have to book online in advance for the Palace). There are sightseeing buses that run frequently.
Nearer than Granada are the lovely lakes of Baza (about45 mins. drive)
The Monastery at Saliente (30 mins.)
A great day out and a lovely drive accross the mountains towards Almeria, is the Mini Hollywood theme park where many of the old "spaghetti westerns" were filmed. There are daily shows, and also a zoo. (about an hours drive, maybe less)
If you don't feel like going anywhere, you can just unwind by the pool and relax with a good book and a glass of wine!
