Comfortable and bright 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of the Costa del Sol. Because of its location high above the coastline of Mijas Costa the apartment offers tranquility and breathtaking views. Apartmentbuilding Las Palmeras 8 is newly completed in September 2011 and has a communal garden with swimming-pool and baby-pool. The entrance of the complex is closed by an electrically operated gate.

Sitio de Calahonda (Calahonda for short) is located on Spain's southcoast, between Marbella and Fuengirola and belongs together with Miraflores and a few smaller villages to the seaside resort of Mijas Costa. Calahonda is situated on a hillside in beautiful green surroundings. The urbanization in typical Andalusian style is very popular with Northern Europeans and many times rewarded with international prizes.

The resort is situated in the province of Málaga in the autonomous region of Andalusia. Straight line between Marbella and Fuengirola in the municipality of Mijas Costa at about 40 minutes drive from Málaga International Airport (Pablo Picasso).

In the adjacent hills lies the picturesque village of Mijas Pueblo with typical white houses, narrow streets and beautiful pilgrimage church "Santuario de la Virgen de la Peña".
Marbella and its lively old town with narrow streets and squares dotted with orange trees, galleries, boutiques and tapas bars is worth a visit.
Puerto Cabopino, the sheltered harbor of Calahonda with cosy bars and restaurants is a short 10 minutes drive from the apartment. The beach of Calahonda, La Playa Luna, has its own beach bar, umbrellas and showers. The popular Puerto Banús is just 20 minutes away

The Costa del Sol has all year round mild, subtropical climate with almost constant cloudless, deep blue skies and brilliant sunshine, 320 days a year. Temperatures range from about 19 ° C in winter to 35 ° C in summer

Environment

Near the apartment you will find tennis courts, an equestrian center, Club de Golf La Siesta (9 holes), Cabopino Golf Club (18 holes) and Miraflores Golf Club (18 holes). There are 3 malls, pharmacies and 2 medical centers. The shopping center El Zoco offers fruit, vegetables and other groceries, but also for various clothing stores and boutiques. Calahonda has many cosy pubs and tavernas. In the adjacent La Cala and Puerto Cabopino you can also find several good restaurants that offers Spanish and international dining.

A tourist train runs every hour around the resort. You can move in and out at various points along "the strip" where you will find bars, restaurants, supermarkets and banks. The train is an attraction in itself (especially for children) and is very useful for shopping or visiting the beach. A rental car is needed for longer distances.

The beaches of Calahonda are in some places interrupted by rocks. On one side the beach ends in the port of Cabopino and on the other side to the beach of La Cala. It is said that the best beaches in the area start at Calahonda and you could even walk from Cabopino to Marbella along miles of golden sandy beaches.
Of course there is also a regular bus service along the coast. This bus runs from Fuengirola to Calahonda and Marbella.

Calahonda is a winner for families, couples, golfers and groups of friends. Thanks to the friendly atmosphere and many activities, Calahonda is everything you need under the sun.

Booked together we can accommodate a group of 8 guests (Property ID´s 12895 and 12900). Calahonda is very popular with holiday makers. Many golf courses, tennis clubs, shopping centres, bars and restaurants. Half an hour of Malaga airport and 10 minutes from Marbella. We are looking forward to welcoming you in sunny Andalucia
