This 200 year old townhouse, with views across the rooftops of Alhaurin, across the Guadalhorce valley and to the mountains of Granada beyond, has been lovingly and painstakingly restored.
In 2004 it was awarded the coveted Gerald Brenan prize as the best restoration of a home in the historic area of the village..a prize which is only awarded very infrequntly by the local council and business people.
Alhaurin is a busy market town and you are just a 10 minute walk away from the heart of the village with its cosmolitan array of restaurants, lively bars and nightlife.
The coastal resorts of Marbella, Fuengirola and La Cala are just a 25 minute drive away as is Malaga Airport.
This is a wonderful opportunity to taste the real Spain, live alongside Spanish families, wake up to the sound of a small town ready to start another day.
You can walk to the family owned bakery at the bottom of the street each morning and either have breakfast on their terrace or buy some freshly baked bread to take home.
It is also an ideal location to go exploring on day trips. Gibraltar, Seville, Granada and even Morrocco can all be visited on day trips.
And when you come home, you can enjoy a quiet drink in the courtyard or throw some steak on the barbeque and chill.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen although some of the best restaurants in town are a five minute walk away.
I have owned this house for 11 years and as I now spend my time between England the the United States I have decided to rent it for holidays.
