The countryside surrounding La golondrina is breathtaking. The hills are covered with neat rows of olive trees, forming a green dotted patchwork blanket. In between there are typical Andalusian white villages.
Iznajar views are spectacular: softly rolling hills, the enourmous blue lake and the deep green olive trees. The white village Iznájar is at the South of the extensive Natural Park La Subbética. The village has been built against a rock and has hardly 5.000 inhabitants. In the area you will find more typical white villages, each of them worth to be explored.
New is a large public swimmingpool
Another main attraction of La Golondrina is the Iznájar Lake, the largest of Andalusia and often called Lake of Andalusia. The lake provides drinking water to the city of Seville, so motorised boats are not authorised on it. This means even more fun for the “silent” water sporters. Don’t expect busy mass tourism. It is very likely to make a boat trip and not encounter anyone else on the water.
Iznájar is central at the geographical point where 3 provinces join Málaga – Granada – Córdoba and is therefore an ideal base from which to explore the attractive cultural cities. The cities of Málaga, Granada, Sevilla and Córdoba are just one hour by car away.
